Ok what the heck is CC cream and why do I need it? Or do I need it?
Officially the initials stand for Colour Correcting Cream. It is lighter in texture than a BB cream and the focus is on illuminating skin and eliminating redness /blotchyness/ sallowness.
THE PROMISE:
- Light coverage
- SPF
- Illuminator/Light reflecting properties
- Moisturizer
THE REAL DEAL:
So let me get this straight. This is a product that covers/evens out skin imperfections and has moisturizing elements to it.
I might be a little slow here but isn't that a tinted moisturizer? Or better still can't you just mix your own moisturizer and base together? I don't love BB creams but at least that was original.
Some have suggested to use this product as a primer. Okay. Why not just use a primer?
As with BB creams the SPF is nowhere near enough to fully protect your face. I am not talking about the SPF level IE: 35,45, but simply the amount of product is not enough.
Most people don't adequately use enough when just applying sunscreen alone. When mixed in with a makeup most people will apply even less to avoid a heavy make-up look.
RATING:
I don't find much use for this one.
I guess if you don't like to wear anything than the little SPF in here is better than nothing. However SPF is ALWAYS best when applied separately so I can't endorse that aspect of the product.
I am going to give this one a 0 out of five because there is no need for this product in your bathroom.
Big companies are simply trying to assuage our constant need for the new and theoretically better.
