Hmm, at first glance these two problems seem unrelated and therefore should be addressed separately, but lets have a look at the ingredients before I give you my final decision.
THE PROMISE: While zapping your zits this product claims to target, fine lines, uneven pigmentation and dull skin.
THE PURE TRUTH: All the ingredients in this product fall into the category of BOTH acne control and age resisters. I am about to get a bit technical here so if your eyes glaze over at the thought of trying to decipher the difference between the PHA's, LHA's and AHA's feel free to skip to the BOTTOM LINE.
BLEMISH BLASTERS
Age & Blemish contains dioic acid which reduces sebum production and kills P.acnes bacteria which is found on everyone's face
Salicylic acid, a BHA, also a key ingredient, goes deep into the pore to neutralize bacteria and also acts as an anti-inflammatory.
It also contains lipo hydroxy acid (LHA). This acid penetrates slightly less into the pore than it's cousin BHA therefore reducing irritation.
Gluconolactone, (GUL), not only provides hydration but has been shown to be as effective as benzyl peroxide and easier to tolerate for some than it's counterpart.
AGE ATTACKERS
Polyhydroxy acid (PHA's) are a topical exfoliant (AHA) that have a lower level of irritation but effectively slough off the top layer of skin cells. With continued used you will experience fresher brighter skin.
Salicylic does double duty in this product. Because it can reach deep within the pore it is able to boost cell renewal as well as a kill bacteria..
The Bottom Line:
The problem with many acne fighting products is that they are incredibly harsh on the skin. Skin can become red, dry and just overall irritated. They can also take some time to work.
This product works overnight without irritation. Your pimple may not be completely eradicated but I promise it will be significantly reduced.
And with all that exfoliating going on fine lines and pigmentation will soon be a thing of the past.
The only downside to this product is the price. A little on the expensive side, usually around $80, but a bottle should last for months and well, I think a bright clear face is worth the investment.
Rating:
I give this one 4 kisses out of five. I had to take a half point off for the high $$ and a half point because sensitive folk may not be able to tolerate it.
Getting older AND having acne isn't fun but this is a fantastic 2 in 1 product that is worth the money.
Overall I LOVE this product and always have a bottle in my bathroom.
